Vestibular neuritis. Is this normal??

Hi there, I was diagnosed with VN 2.5 weeks ago. I had quite bad vertigo (which caused vomiting a couple of times) for 3 days. Then it eased and I had a couple of good days before I had a really bad day again. Then I had a week symptom free however, today I woke up feeling dizzy when I turned over in bed and have spent most of the day on the sofa to avoid the vertigo feeling. I've started taking Betahistamine again today and have taken valium as I'm very anxious as to why it's coming and going like this! I had it last year and it lasted 2 weeks but didn't come and go like this. Is this normal?
