Vestibular neuropathy

Has anyone had or been told about vestibular nuropathy? I feel constant unbalanced and it makes me feel sick. I don't know what to do, I've only done physical therapy for like 4 days but I'm wondering if anyone got better without it and took any medication to help it?

What type of vestibular neuropathy have you been diagnosed with (e.g. vestibular neuritis)?

I have no idea there were certain kinds? Just like a left side weakness from a virus or something. I then stopped moving, I Kates in bed for 3 months straight and it got even worse. Curious if you know anything about it? I'm so inbalanced and uncomfortable.

How long have you had your symptoms?  Are they triggered by anything or are they spontaneous?  Continuous or in episodes?  What tests have you done so far, and what were their results?

I started getting dizzy over a year ago randomly, it would go away in like 4 days, then more recently the last 3 months I've had continuous Imbalance feeling, like swaying or boat feeling. It's horrible. When I'm sleeping and closing my eyes it gets worse. This is continuous. I had virtigo once a couple months ago. Have any idea what I have? I'm so upset over it. I want to get rid of it so badly. I don't know what to do anymore

Have you done any tests so far, like audiograms, caloric test, etc? Any results?

I've had a test over a year ago, they put air in my ears, and it made me get dizzy and they said I have a weakness on my left side, but things weren't this bad. It's gotten bad for the last 3 months lately. I got a hearing test, it went down in my right ear and then my hearing went up again. What's a caloric test?

From your history, I'm assuming that the one vertigo episode that you had a few months ago immediately preceded the continuous feeling that you have now for 3 months.  The previous episode was 9 months before this latest one.

I am confused by the difference in results between the audiogram and calorics (air in ears), with emphasis on right and left ear respectively.  Did the audiogram show high frequency hearing loss? If it did then it probably is not related to your current problem.

Assuming this, then based on the calorics you do indeed have left peripheral vestibular dysfunction.  If so, then 4 days is not long enough for the vestibular rehabilitation.  You will need two-three weeks at least to see a difference.  You may be experiencing minor relapses of vestibular neuritis (you do not mention auditory or other symptoms).  I do not know if this is similar to what your doctors have told you.

I was not told I had neuritis, all they said I had was vestibular neuropathy. Will this go away ever? The feeling of swaying and moving around or am I stuck like this forever? Any medication I can take? I was on xanex and Valium for a while and they said that prob made things worse. It said I had a low frequency lost of hearing in my right ear. But then it went back up again on my last hearing test I believe.
