I did experience some fluctuation in vision over several days in the second eye on which I had cataract surgery. Started out somewhat blurry, then got clearer, back and forth a little bit that way.  The major issue for me, as I've said elsewhere in these forums, was a flashing or strobing light effect in my left (2nd) eye ... which eventually went away after several months.  So yeah, some fluctuation is not unusual, as I understand it and in my experience.

Yes. I think there are a number of reasons for this. I had similar and it was CME. Basically retinal swelling.

Don't accept their answer if you are not confident in them.  My original surgeon was telling me it was nerve damage.  Burry vision started on day 7 and would not go away but would fluxuate.  It lasted for months until i started doing my own research into possibilities and came to a CME conclusion.  I went to see a few different doctors until one saw what i was feeling and prescribed meds for it.  Three months later on the meds everything cleared up.  Be your own advocate. You are a number to them if anything at all.

What is CME? I just left Dr. And he said the flickering and inconsistent Vision was inflammation and the fluid around the lens which is not settled.

See link.  it is basically swelling of retina or inflammation like your dr said.  You need to see if it is corneal or retinal as they have different treatment.  Not suggesting you have this but if your vision was good post surgery and then about 6 days later went poor, it can be the likely cause as this is what usually happens.  The flickering should go away.  It is not related to your decreased vision loss but just a new lense in your eye and it will need to adjust. I had it and many people complain of it.  If you start seeing lighning type flashes then it is a different issue and you should get treatment immediately as it could be a sign of a retinal tear.

Regarding what your dr said.  Very possible that it could be corneal swelling.  You just had a major surgery even though it is a very common surgery.  However, an easy test is to see a retina specialist and have him measure the back of your eye for swelling.  You will then know.

Thanks for your comment about the flickering, kinda explains most of what I am experiencing , I just had surgery 3 days ago and have an Multifocal IOL tecnis lens +2.75 and it is flickering at times and it also looks like the edge of a glass in my preferial vision , sounds like the capsul the lens set in needs to shrink and I should be fine.  Other than that I am LOVING my choice
