Vision not sharp

I had cataract surgery in my left eye 10 days ago. The doctor tells me that after reading the eye chart that I am healing well and that I’ve had improvement in my vision but everything still looks a little fuzzy. Other people have told me how sharp their vision was right after surgery. I don’t know what’s wrong with me that I’m experiencing this. My regular doctor went on vacation after the surgery and I saw one of the senior partners and this is what he told me. I did have a lot of burning and when I told him about the blurring he told me it was probably dry eye. i’ve been treated for this for years because I have Sjogren’s and putting in drops just not help clear up my vision.

I need to know if this is normal and that it will go away. I am supposed to see my regular doctor next week and if everything looks good they were going to schedule my right eye. I can’t imagine going through with a second surgery if I can’t see well in my left eye. how long does it take for vision to improve?

It can take a month or so for some people after cataract surgery for the eye's vision to stabilize. It took a little over a month for me, mainly because had to keep using the special eyedrops for several weeks they have you take. After they let you stop taking those eyedrops, the eye can stabilize quicker that was the case for me. During that first month my vision in the eye that had surgery varied greatly sometimes worse than 20/100 and very blurry some days, other days it was clearer. Eventually the vision stabilized in my eye to about 20/25 distance vision, pretty good and its stayed that way for almost 3 years now.

So just have to hang in there past that first month or so and hopefully vision will stabilize by then, assuming they got the correct lens power selected.

Thank you. That was my fear that they didn’t select the right lens. When I saw the partner last week he said I still had swelling and increased the Prednisolone dose to six times a day. I am wondering if swelling might be an issue? I’m going to have to talk to him at my next appointment.

I don’t know if there’s a problem with this site but this is the third time I’m typing this reply.

I have a mono lens and before the surgery my doctor told me I should be able to see well and that eye within one or two days. It is two weeks later and my vision is still blurry i have been on prednisolone 6x a day and you would think that it would decrease swelling i feel so let down

you could be allergic to the drops. W-H's wife had reaction to the drops and they changed them out. you may want to look into that.
