Visual Problems no headache

I am hoping someone is experiencing the same or similar symptoms to myself. I am 45 years old and female, back in January I had an incident where I lost the sight in my left eye for a matter of minuites. This was followed by large squiggly lines (again only breifly) which then turned into what I would descrive as a swarm of bees. The bees lasted for about 10 days.

I was first taken to A&E where they did tests and refered me to an eye specialist who tested my retina, optic nerve etc and found no problems.  A few weeks later I went for an MRI scan and the consultant there said he thought it was a migraine but was surprised it lasted so long.

Since this 1st occasion I have had a few other occasions of what I would call light swarms of bees or floaters but nothing too server, until my brothers wedding about 10 days ago, where I had a few glasses of wine, stayed up slightly later than normal and went to the disco with flashing lights.  During the night staying at the hotel I had a terrible headache ( I put that down to the alcohol). when I woke up in the morning opened the curtain and went into the bright white bathroom.  My vision was like having a bowl of water and dropping drops of food colouring into the bowl and then the colouring vanished and it would do it again continuously for about an hour.  Since this I have had One dark floater continuously, it moves with my eye but if I stare really hard it will vanish, I also have on the right side of the floater a squiggly line. On several occassions I have also had tingling in my face.  It is beginning to get me down simply because I have no idea if it will go, or what caused it in the first place, I am not 100% convinced it is a migraine either.   I have a telephone appointment with my GP but thats not until Thursday PM.

I am 41 year old female, unfortunately this sounds very much like migraine, the sight issues and tingling/numbness are just some of the symptoms I experience, I also black out with no warning, nausea, vertigo, etc. This can last for 2 weeks at a time.

I am on a preventative due to severity and am taking 1600mg daily but to date has got worse!

    Good luck

I just had a recent episode with the blurry vision in one eye, no headache. I googled it and it said ocular migraine. Checked with my eye dr and she said the same thing. I am back to watching my triggers. Have been drinking wine lately (small amounts) so am going to stop that and see if things improve. It' not worth it. Good you had the professionals check into it. All of those things - sleep, lights, and noise bring on headaches. Could you be like me a "highly sensitive person"? If so, we are more affected by external stimuli. Google HSP and learn all about it. Take care.
