Vitamin D

i have recently had a vitamin D level blood test done, please can someone advise what is a

Normal Reading. My result was Minus - 2.7

    What is the unit of the reading? I assume its ng/ml. If it is like that only then its really surprising that u have a negative level. The recommended level is between 20-30 ng/ml. But its better if it can be maintained somewhere near 40 ng/ml. Please consult your physician once to avoid any complications.

    Hi Gillian, that figure does not sound right. You can only have a minimum of zero vitamin D in your body which is very unlikely not a negative amount. Who gave you your reading? You are not talking about a Dexascan and bone density are you? My test result printout shows that a normal level is between 50 and 150 nmol/L
