my understanding is that we need vitamin D to help our body absorb calcium that we intake.

Just read in an article _it says

I take vit D because I read that it helps with many things. I also take calcium so between the both, I'm covered.

The maximum you can take 1000IU. But the best is after while, you get your level check.
