I read where 20 to 50 is normal yet the blood levels show 30 yo 100 being normal so does anyone know what is a normal level. My doctor put me on 50000 iu a week for 8 weeks. anyone else here been on vitamin D and did it help.

    Hiya!

I too have previously suffered with Vitamin D deficiency and i felt absolutely awful. No energy whatsoever and my body ached all over. After completing my course Vitamin D i felt so much better. After a while though, i felt lethargic again so i decided to buy an over the counter Vitamin D suppliment and just take one a day every day. I will probably do this from now on and have a break in the summer month's! I hope you start to feel better!!

Hi , yes vitamin D level should be between 40 to 80 mg levels . 20 is very low . Low vitamin D levels have be proven in studies at harvard to be a main cause of anxiety / depression .. Vitamin D is actually a pro homone it is vital for functions in you body from head to toe ..

I have read that Vit D is the single most important vitamin to take. I have Vit D in my multi but take a little extra at night hoping that it helps with bone health as I age.. The sun isn't out as much so I need it.
