Vitamin D and Chamomile helps with side effects

Hi

I am on week 12 of taking 40mg fluoxetine and I am still having side effects but I posted a message on here when I was on week 8 ref to EFT helping me. I have suffered horrific side effects in fact there have been a couple of times when I just wanted to give up but I turned this negative energy into studying stress, anxiety and depression and have been looking for anything that can help with the side effects. I read a couple of articles from trusted sources and tests that Chamomile and Vitamin D can really help when taking fluoxetine so I gave them a go starting last week and I feel they are really benefiting me so I wanted to share this with all the people who are suffering with the horrendous side effects of this drug. Both supplements can be taken with fluoxetine safely. I would always consult the dr first but I just went for it.

Here is the test review, I sincerely hope that this helps fellow sufferers.

Adding vitamin D to standard anti-depressant medication has been shown to improve treatment response compared to medication alone.

In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial patients with major depressive disorder received either 1500 IU vitamin D3 plus 20 mg fluoxetine or fluoxetine alone daily for 8 weeks. Depression severity was assessed at 2-week intervals using the 24-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS) as a primary outcome measure and the 21-item Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) as a secondary outcome measure.

Depression severity based on HDRS and BDI decreased significantly after intervention, with a significant difference between the two groups. The vitamin D + fluoxetine combination was significantly better than fluoxetine alone from the fourth week of treatment.

“In the present 8-week trial, the vitamin D + fluoxetine combination was superior to fluoxetine alone in controlling depressive symptoms” concluded the study investigators. Importantly this study shows that not only can vitamin D be safely administered alongside medication; it improves treatment response as well.
