Do you know what your vit D reading is? Your surgery should give you this information. It is usual to take a higher dose to start with if deficient. I have been taking a regular 800iu daily for a while now. I started with a reading of 26. I understand that vit D can improve the response of fluoxetine. I am sure it will not do you any harm though. I understand that around a quarter of the population are low on vitamin D, probably more.

So your taking 800iu a day now, but they must of started you in something similar to what I have to take at the beginning??

No I was just prescribed 800iu vitamin D. I do have calcium with my tablets though. It is unusual not to be given a larger amount to start with to get you going, my surgery are just a bit lazy! I have got to over 70 after a couple of years.
