    Hello Amy,

I don't think it's related. I had mine tested last June and it was low enough to be treated. The Orthopaedic doc said that most people probably have a low vitamin D between October and April there is not enough UV strength for it to be converted even if you did eat enough in your diet, I live in Germany and the food is not fortified with vitamin D in comparison to some of the scandinavian countries. The amount of fatty fish I would have to eat to get a reasonable amount of vitamin D is not possible, for thaat reason I take 800ie daily. Unfortunately it has no relevance for LS

    hi amy

well done for checking yourself out. Your LS could be rectified with Vit d if that's your only deficit. what were your thyroid results?

    Hi Amy,

Interestingly Vit D came up when I was seeing a trichologist about my other auto immune issue - frontal fibrosing alopecia. She said that many of us get not enough Vit D from the sun as we are either inside or protecting ourselves. This woman said she used a night cream on her face as it was the only facial cream she could find without UV protection.  But in fact my Vit D levels are not that low. So I think its not the only factor.

I do take extra vitamin D, but I'm not sure it has anything to do with my condition.  I also have fibromyalgia and diabetes.  I have always had rashes and mysterious itching issues.  I think the LS is a result of acidity.   It also cycles.  Sure makes my life  miserable sometimes.

    Hi Amy,

I too use extra vitamine D.  This was meant for the Lichen Planus.  May be good for LS.  Don't know.  After four months of using this and brushing my teeth with baking soda, and avoiding spices found in East Indian food, the Lichen Planus has simmered down.  It's still there, but less said my dentist just this past week.

    hi amy,

hows it going? have you been able to increase your vit D? any improvement?

another issue that's often over looked is the activity of the thyroid. TSH alone is often measured when there are other factors which get missed out .

as you are looking in to your condition i thought you might be interested in this current webinar..tho it finishes soon. I can privately message you if it gets taken down.

      Hi Marey,

Everything is goin really well actually i have been given the all clear from the doctor i have nothing goin on down there so no ls for me smile she reckons it was some sort off infection that caused thickening off the skin. as for my vitamin d the doctors gave me medication to take and i need blood tests to see if they have worked.

Hope everything works out for you.

      all the best

      Amy.

    dear amy

    i am delighted for you!

you may well have averted LS....deficiencies can cause auto-immunity so do continue to be watchful! have you had thyroid testing? not just TSH but the full array T3 T4 REVERSE T3 T1 and T2?

I am guessing you had some symptoms that concerned you ...tick bites are another big issue that is coming to the forefront with Lymes Disease. Worth getting tested for that so you can actively cleanse any infection that may become dormant but re-manifest later. High doses of vit c at this time  whilst you are recovering is a great prophilactic . Taking vit k2 with vit d3 gets best result ...per latest research.

will you get back with your vit d readings and the updated tests? its been good to interact with you. stay well and watch your health. can you de-tox? are you in the younger age group....there is so much enviromental pollution now but you will get a handle on it.....!

thanks amy....you have my good wishes. its nice to speak to a younger person who is willing to consider taking care and de-toxing. I so wish I could persuade my daughter to give up chemicals. Have you considered this yourself? Hair spray, deodrant...its the aluminium...moisturisers with additives  eek put on your skin only that which you would put in your mouth is a good philosophy......try a mix of raw coconut and virgin olive oil in attractive bottles of your own...leave by all sinks in your house...then you will cut out your chemical consumption greatly...no need to shampoo your hair ...nor conditon it except with coconut oil before a shampoo if you must wash it!! As for de-toxing as well as the FILTERED water.. don't touch the plastic bottled stuff because of PCB's... milk thistle is great for supporting the liver...i';ll leave you to go on a quest to source it..but would you let us know on here where you get it from...others may appreciate the info too. If you've just had a heavy infection its really important...as residues can take up home and hide in the body contributing to inflammation at a later date...so get after those organisms and always keep that mental flexibility! well done.
