Vitamin D deficiency vs PMR

Sorry folks - I have posted this before to EILEEN at least but cant find it anywhere and unusually no-one has commented or my emails aren't coming through again but couldn't find original post and I suspect it got lost in the new development of this site !!! What a mess up putting it politely!
Last week I had a raft of blood tests and my VitD was very deficient and required an immediate correction of 50,000 units per week for 6 weeks. Many VitD Deficiency symptoms mimic PMR ! I Would assume this would have been investigated before putting me on such a nasty drug like Pred........ Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this......I will be very cross if I have suffered unnecessarily on PRED, and Vit D Deficiency was the culprit for my aches and pains!
I so hope you are all still on this forum as it has been inaccessible for a while.....it will be a sad day if you all leave the sinking ship but i assume this is what the developers meant when they were trying to reduce the advertising we see......so I assume they have to pay for it somehow! Sadly i am too poor to pay for such a forum and as advice comes from individuals in a similar position I think its a liberty - so perhaps bring back the advertising......such a shame if it all goes to pot as it has been a godsend to me on more than this topic.......but perhaps we will link up on another forum!
MEANWHILE I hope someone sees this and can answer my question......
My very best wishes to you all if you disappear xxxx

Just to add to this thread: being on pred can lower your vit D level so it is something that should be monitored while you are on pred and rectified if necessary.

I have found a way to keep the forum and threads going but it means I have to keep one thread open. It works for me but what a pain..........worse than PMR..........please insert whatever emoji you think appropriate as I can't!!!!! I note the capital key stays on when I use it which is perhaps appropriate as I guess there are are plenty angry and frustrated people on, or possibly unable to access the forum. I thought there was something wrong with my ipad but it's only happening on this forum!!!!!! I have plenty advertisements coming through so I'm not sure about the reduction.

Once again, I'm literally stumbling across things quite by accident...saying to myself "hey, I've not read that", or "their's that answer I've been waiting for....Why is it over here??"
And so I'll continue to search and search cuz the info and community are THAT important to me!
So if anyone's waiting to hear a certain reply from me....please don't give up! I'll Find ya sooner or later!

Can you not bookmark the page? I have the homepage bookmarked so I can always find it whatever happens and work from there (and that is one thing that hasn't changed except in appearance!!!). And when all else fails - google will always find a patient.info page if you ask a question about PMR!!!

Eileen, when my teeth became so sensitive to cold, I did Google PMR and teeth. It led to a discussion on the list and comments you wrote. It helped, thanks!
Your posts are so appreciated. This is an ever changing, always puzzling disease.
You share your knowledge and it is comforting to read what you write.
Be assured, your wisdom helps many of us. Thank you.
