Thanks for the response! I'm still waiting on my results. I get them tomorrow, but I'm 97% positive it is GH. Hate even saying that, but the symptoms are to similar to what everyone else has been experiencing on here to even ignore it. Trying to accept it.

I just came on here to ask the same question lol! I just read today that you should try and stick with foods that are high in Lysine and low in Arginine... I didn't know what either were so I looked them up. There's actually a supplement you can get at the store for Lysine. After a little more research and reading reviews, it seems like good stuff. It can help prevent and stop outbreaks. So I got the bottle of 30pills, 1000mg and you only take one a day.. More if it's during an outbreak or to stop an outbreak. I hate taking medication everyday so I think I'm going to start with this & see how it goes... I'm wondering if anyone else has had success with lysine supplements ...

Don't waste your money on this junk, you and your body need to handle it.

Diet does not affect genital herpes, nor lysine. The leading HSV experts don't back this up, since it's not scientifically proven (or the results not replicable). It is still widely claimed by many, however, there's no evidence. You can thus continue to eat/drink whatever you want (except don't overdo alcohol), unless you are convinced a certain item happens to be triggering or helpful for you.

I have just started taking a regular multivitamin and fish oil, even though I probably don't need either, lol. I have a pretty balanced diet as it is, and I'm not making any change to it whatsoever. The whole lysine and special diet for herpes business is bogus (no scientific proof).

I have read studies showing propolis (bee-produced resin) to be effective against HSV, however, so will check that out. For topical relief, I love the feeling of tea tree oil, which is also a natural antiseptic. I also drink loads of herbal tea. Not sure if it really does anything, but I love tea!
