VIVITY CONTRAST WARNING

l just had my first cataract surgery in one eye with vivity three days ago , the contrast and image quality seems great , even in low light , l dont know why they say it has low contrast, in terms of image quality and contrast l feel like l have back the vision l had when l was in my 20's. l also not only have great intermediate and distance in the vivity eye but l can also read small print close up. maybe it because l had a very good experienced surgeon and apart from cataracts my eyes were in very good condition. lm really glad l went with vivity and not a monofocal as with vivity l dont need glasses for anything and l feel like l have just as good image quality l would have got with a monofocal, my next eye is in a month l hope it goes just as well as the first eye

It is good to hear that you are happy with your vision.

Perhaps it has to do with the capabilities of the patient's retina. I have to believe the FDA warning about Vivity causing loss of contrast sensitivity for many patients is there for a reason.

I read a thread on another site by someone with Vivity who said seeing in low light was like looking through a fog, for her. But, maybe she had PCO. She had not seen her doctor about it yet.

my surgeon said my retina and eyes are in great condition apart from cataracts, maybe thats why l have good contrast

How is your night vision with the Vivity IOL?

Any things like halos, etc noticeable when driving at night?

Its been only 3 days since surgery so l havent had a chance to test it at night, lll let you know once l do. l was worried that on overcast or low light days it might have low contrast , but thats not something l have noticed, contrast seems normal

Do you have just one eye done? If other eye has a cataract perhaps that eye had less contrast due to cataract and what you are comparing Vivity to.

Good tho you ate pleased with the outcome
