I've had burning and itching in my vulva/vagina area off and on for 20 years. Yes, I know, Ugh! I have tried all kinds of treatments over the years. I went to the Pelvic Pain Clinic for internal massage that has helped the most. The physical therapist said I have held my pelvic floor muscles so tight  (from being in fight or flight mode)for so many years that the muscles are pinching my nerves there. Now I do yoga and meditation regularly to help relax those muscles and to be more self aware of tighting up. I use a tool called "the magic wand" to massage the pelvic muscles (inserted in my vagina...and no it doesn't "turn me on"). That seems to help. Although I don't use it enough. I've had terrible vulva itching for many, many years. The internal self massage helps and using a cream I just discovered online called Emuaid, which is a homepathic cream. I notice the burning and itching is worse before my period. Eating or not eating certain foods has made no difference. I've read alot of stuff that says people that have this issue may have never really felt emotionally safe. So I say to myself, "I am safe. I have boundaries. I am protected. I am worthy."

I hope this helps. I think it's going to be an issue I may have to deal with the rest of my life. I hope not, but it's lasted so many years. I do notice it flares up bad when I am stressed. I believe the vagina/vulva and the nerves there are part of the nervous system. I just keep trying to love myself through it and try not to blame my body for this issue. Namaste!

hi cath have you been diagnosed with vulvodynia? nerve pain can be treated with amitriptyline from your gp. if you are burning try pouring water over your sore area when you pass urine.

Warm sitz baths. Get the basin from a medical supply place. It fits on the toilet. I used to soak for about 15 minutes. This is just what i did with my doctors advice. I also was allowed to use hydrocortisone 1 percent ointment, you can buy over the counter 2 times a day. Vitamin e oil squeezed from a vit e capsule. Poke it with a pin and put it on your finger. Can be applied to vulva to moisturise and protect. White cotton underwear and loose pants. At night i would just wear a nightgown and skip the underwear. Also use free and clear laundry detergent. Unscented toilet paper.on the vulva just water to wash. All this helped me alot. Hope some of it helps you. It is not a fun thing to go through. Also go to a gynocolohist and get a pelvic exam.
