My OB/Gyn told me not to use any soap. plain water and a washcloth!

i usually don't use any soap down there. On the rare occasions I do, I use Cetaphil body wash which contains no soap or fragrance. i also use wash cloths made for babies because they're very gentle with no nubby texture.

Thank you all for your responses. I cut up squares of my husbands old t-shirts and wipe with those and use them to put on the ointment. Then wash the squares in hot water.

Hi - I use Aqueous cream to wash in - it was recommended by the nurse practitioner at my GPs and works really well - very soothing and soap free. Hope this helps. You can buy it at any chemist or supermarket and is in tubs for a very reasonable price - no need for a prescription. I buy it from Asda for about £3 for a big tub.
