I was diagnosed with vulvodynia two weeks ago. I’m still waiting to see a specialist. But I can’t take this burning pain anymore. It is seriously running my life. I can’t think straight anymore. I had that I can’t do the activities anymore because this is stopping me. Has anyone have a cure for vulvodynia?

Hi there
Yes I had vulvadynia and am now cured. Once you see your specialist you need her to get you onto Nortryptiline medication, this is the recognised cure for vulvadynia. I started taking the meds last February, 2018 and was fine by MAY 2018. I started on 10mg and gradually increased to 40mg which was the amount i needed to stop all pain, everyone is different, a couple of women i have helped are on 80mg but now getting relief. I stayed on this for 6 weeks at 40mg tgen gradually reduced until now i am med free and thankfully pain free. Its a horrible illness and ruins your life temporarily but you can get rid of it. I also did 8 sessions of acupuncture which also helped.

there is definitely hope but you have to be strict, determined, patient, try everything known to work (what everyone has suggested here) and avoid everything that aggravates it (sex, exercise, sitting - get a donut cushion which is a round cushion with a hole in the middle).

I had vulvodynia and I know exactly which burning pain you are talking about. I saw several different doctors and was put on all kinds of meds and creams that never worked. Finally, I traveled to Houston, TX last year to see a specialist and was diagnosed accurately. She said it is Overactive Pelvic Floor muscles that are squishing the nerves down there. I was referred to a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist and I literally had 6 sessions of physical therapy to learn how to release my pelvic floor muscles and it was gone- the burning pain. I cried because I saw so many doctors who had no clue and all missed diagnosed me and tried to drug me up.

i had vulvodynia and i cured it with a combination of amitriptyline, manual desensitisation, pelvic floor exercises, saginil gel and acupuncture. You need to get on amitriptyline asap - for me, that reduced the pain to a bearable level and enable me to sleep, everything else (especially the acupuncture) gradually got rid of the pain completely. I was pain free after 1.5 years and able to have normal sex after 6 more months. See my post "how i cured my vulvodynia" for more details (click on my name then select the discussions tab and you will see a list of the discussions i started, other women have posted there success stories on there too, including the other women who have responded here).
