Hiya im 37 yrs old and in the menopause.i have been suffering from burning down below since the start of dec last yr.my own doc done swabs came back clear and to be honest i dont think he knows what to do for me besides prescribe me creams which dont help.i recently went to a lady doc who specialises in the menopause.she checked me out below and seems to think i could have ls.i have no white spots but i do have some dark skin discolouration around my vulva.im goin for a biopsy in 2 wks and im at my wits end.i dont wear underwear and im wearing loose clothes.im under 8 st ive never been heavier than that but now and a few people have commented on my weight as im after loosing another few pounds.im just wondering has anyone been diagnosed with ls who hasnt had any white spots to begin with? Thanks xx

i had two years of pain and soreness and was forever being diagnosed for thrush by my GP. I would be given a course of Canniston which would help for a short period then back to where I started. I didn't have the white spots just red raw and over that two years my vulva area became more and more scarred. My daughter is a doctor but in Virology and I had never really wanted to ask her to look 'there' but out of desperation I asked her if she would have a look at it. She was horrified and immediately organised for me to see a consultant dermatologist. I had a biopsy which confirmed the LS diagnosis that was just over two years ago. I now use Dermovate twice a week and wash the area with Epaderm Ointment and use Epaderm cream to help keep the area moist. I also have Vagifem tablets to insert twice a week. This regime has kept it under control and I am not as sore as I used to be. Strangely enough I have never had the white spots until recently.

e from my Gyneo lady i also have a collapsed bladder but i get very dry
maybe i should ask her is it ok to use vagefem tablets
she also says if you can wear no knickers but with the bladder problem not too sure about that
