Thanks xx

I'm waiting for a confirmation of LS, I've just had biopsy. I've not got any spots or itching just constantly burning n sore. Creams I've been given have so far not given me much relief.

Before biopsy I had some relief with evening primrose oil rubbed on to sore areas, will try that again once stitches have dissolved! I am going through menopause. How long did you wait for results of biopsy?

I was dignosed having only severe itching, inflamation and fragile tissue- that came off on the loo paper after dabbing following a wee. At the time there was some fusing of the labia too. I havent had white spots - once i did have what looked like a blood blister. Do look at the various threads as there is a lot of useful advice about how to manage symptoms. Basically stress makes the symptoms worse, some people find certain foodstuffs like sugar coffee and wheat may make them have a flare up. Avoid perfumed creams and lotions on the area.Keep moisturised Use barrier creams to keep body fluids off the area. Avoid penetrative sex if possible

    Good luck

    Hi Catts123

i had two years of pain and soreness and was forever being diagnosed for thrush by my GP.  I would be given a course of Canniston which would help for a short period then back to where I started.  I didn't have the white spots just red raw and over that two years my vulva area became more and more scarred.  My daughter is a doctor but in Virology and I had never really wanted to ask her to look 'there' but out of desperation I asked her if she would have a look at it. She was horrified and immediately organised for me to see a consultant dermatologist. I had a biopsy which confirmed the LS diagnosis that was just over two years ago. I now use Dermovate twice a week and wash the area with Epaderm Ointment and use Epaderm cream to help keep the area moist. I also have Vagifem tablets to insert twice a week.  This regime has kept it under control and I am not as sore as I used to be.  Strangely enough I have never had the white spots until recently.

i use emuvate on flare ups but i have been very lucky and not had any since using this and washing with Double Base gel

and only wearing white underwear and only using non bio Fairy or Persil washing

all this was reccomended to me

e from my Gyneo lady i also have a collapsed bladder but i get very dry

maybe i should ask her is it ok to use vagefem tablets

she also says if you can wear no knickers but with the bladder problem not too sure about that

Hi Catts..hopefully your biopsy shows you don't have LS!! But if you do then you have caught it very early. My white spots and wrinkly white cottage cheese skin dint show up until I was in my 50's but I do remember having bruised skin now and then in my 30's and 40's. I use to think it was just from having sex and I bruised easily. I never new I had it then. If I had of known then, I could of started a regime of some kind so it would never have progressed to the point the white patches came. I think when the white patches come it's way past the beginning stages, so make sure you gets our biopsy and and know for sure, and if it positive then you are at least ahead of the game to keep it under control so it won't progress forward.. Good luck! Let me know your results

I did not have any problems after the biopsy, just a tingy bit sore but after the soreness you have been having it should not be anything to worry about.  Good luck I hope it all goes well for you.

I think it depends on what your job is! I took 4 days off and I'm still sore and uncomfortable as stitches still there.
