So I think I am going to have to find the walking stick. My leg is a bit like a dead weight at the moment. Can only get up and down stairs one at a time. Lift at work broken. Just realised that docs on phone did not mention what had happened to physio referral. Will be calling both hospitals this morning to see if they cañ give me a time frame

So, for one hospital I have to wait four months, for the other two months, on top of the one month thats its taken my GP to actually make the referral. Spent two days with a crutch but thankfully now had a day without the need for it. Upped my pain relief to over the counter cocodamol which has helped. ALthough been told that can only take for 3 days. Took them all day yesterday, but will see if i can manage without them today. THanks for letting me just update you on the saga, makes it all the more manageable

OK, so having been quoted 16 weeks I now have an appointment in a weeks time with the better of the two hospitals. Is there anything i should be asking?

If it's a neck issue,  you really need to have an MRI done to confirm cause.  They might trty put you on a Physio course first,  but until they know the cause,  that might be pointless,  but it's what they usually do.  If I were you,  I'd insist on MRI...then there can be no doubt about what treatments to consider.  Again, mention the 'dizzy' stuff,  they can't ignore that.  Also,  you could look up cervical spondylosis on this site and compare your symtoms,  so you are prepared beforehand.  Until something is confirmed,  it's difficult to advise because it could be something else.

So, hospital appointment today. For the first time someone actually looked at my neck. Have MRI in 2 to 4 weeks. Then they will review.  At last it was someone who listened to me.

She has also given me the name of two different drugs, one an anti depressant  one an anti convulsant which i need to discuss with my doctor. Both should help with nerve issues.
