Waiting for HSV2 results BREAKING OUT ALL OVER Help

Little bit of a backstory. I had sex with a guy once on 12/29/2015. He messaged me a week later asking me if i was sure that i was clean. I said yes i had been fully tested for all stds in september (including hsv1 &2). I even sent him the records that i had requested from my primary doc. He then says hes having some weird sensations in his penis and that maybe he was just dehydrated (so i assumed discharge since he wouldnt tell me specifically) even without symptoms i scheduled a appointment and saw the doctor 2/9/2016. She tested me only for chlamydia and HIV since i was having no symptoms. Then the week after my appointment i had flu like symptoms (however i had same symptoms as a coworker and then my family member got same symptoms immediately after me) but also accompanied by slight itching in my vaginal area. Was about to treat it for yeast but decided to look and found a quarter sized ulcer like lesion on inside of labia. Only one. I went in the next tuesday 2/16/2016 and the doc said she was unsure but PROBABLY HSV2. Did a swab and blood test for syphilis. Prescribed valaxor. Now a week later lesion is almost fully healed only have slight itching very rarely. But i notice small blister like bumps on thumb in a cluster kinda hurts when pressed on. Now the past two days my forearms have broken out inpatches of small clustery bumps and they look scaly. I have very dry hands but this is different. Can herpes break out all over large area if i have dry skin there and i somehow spread it there please help with suggestions of my situation. Soonest doc could get me in again is friday.

The arm breakout does not sound like herpes at all. Could it be that your genital lesions are related to this larger condition and thus you may not even have herpes? When do you get your herpes test results back?

She said a week last tuesday so im still waiting. Its odd because my arm breakouts look more like herpes than in the genital region which was just one huge lesion. Idk its spreading which is why im uneasy. Thank you for responding to this. I do see that your very active in responding in this community and its very appreciated, im sure by many!

Was thinking and I'm wondering if it could be erythema multiforme. You can Google it for more info and photos. Basically, it's a hypersensitive reaction to certain infections, HSV-1 being one of the most common, but usually oral HSV-1. The rash itself is not contagious. Hard to say without seeing it, but if so, it's indirectly related. Only other thing I can think of is EBV (mono), a herpes family virus that can cause a rash and fatigue. Herpes zoster (shingles) would normally be on the trunk and one sided, so unlikely. Or maybe it's just a rash! Not HSV, though. That would be most unusual. I hope it clears up soon. Let me know what your doctor thinks it is.

So i just got a call back that my herpes swab test, syphilis, HIV, and chlamydia tests were all negative. I asked about a false negative for swab tests and she said if she didnt swab well enough or if the sore was old, i kinda think neither was the case. I am definitely still going to wait and see for a reoccurance before any intimate contact but how likely is it to be a false negative in my situation? She said the arm breakouts could be eczema. Also note i am on accutane which has lowered my immunity causung some minor yeast infec. On my lips and staff infection in armpits face and inside of elbows. My genital lesion was on the inside of my labia in my vagina. Thabks for any input!

The doctor did not look at your arms in person? Could be eczema, and better that than the others I mentioned! I thought you said it looked more like herpes than the genital lesion you found, so kinda blistery (and scaly). Or not? Anyway, eczema is a relief, plus the negative culture!

Yeah, I am not a fan of the viral culture swab for exactly this reason. If it comes back negative, you're never 100% sure if it's because you're truly negative or because the lesions weren't swabbed properly or are too old, and then the opportunity to confirm the outbreak in many cases is gone. Pcr swab is waaay better! You may not recur (especially if truly negative!), so I guess you can test for IgG at three months, then take that as final. Can also do the test now for comparison/baseline purposes, but up to you.

Could well be that you don't have it like I first said, and that your genital lesion is a part of the larger problem on your arms...or completely unrelated and just an ordinary bump, like we get from time to time. Either way, you can relax and look to treat the eczema!

I had sex w a guy mid january. Since then I've had flu like symptoms, aches in my body, lower back pain, gritty feeling in my eyes, head ache, lack of appetite all these symptoms but no blisters. I had a bump went n got it checked out and doc wasn't concerned ed. I told her I haven't been feeling well at all but she disregarded my symptoms to stress. Now it looks like I have bumps on my face and I can see some on my arms. I'm on valicior.... however you spell it just for a week after seeing an obgyn. I feel better but it's taking a toll on my skin as I already have sensitive/dry skin.

Plus my son and I went to a water park a couple wks back and I'm terrified he caught it from me. I read that it's highly unlikely to pass in chlorinated pools and stuff but still. I know people say not to feel like the virus is oozing from us but how can you not feel that way. I haven't kissed my son since I've suspected a few wks ago. Maybe it was too late... Idk I'm trying to handle it n deal w it but it's always in my face, always. I'm stressed and scared too. Plus I'm single and have been for 8 years. Good luck to me now.
