Waiting for results.

so i took the igg test last may 9 and for some reason i still haven't received the results in the mail. i haven't gotten a call either from my doctor to tell me which hsv i have.

just a little background, i took an igm test which came up 1.04 equivocal. my doc tells me if i have not had an outbreak then i probably have oral hsv. that was it. so i came back 3 months after my supposed exposure and told him i wanted to get an igg test for closure. i cant just take his word it was oral cause it might put any potential relationships i have in the future at risk.

so here i am. trying to still deal with it. i think ive accepted my fate pretty well or maybe ive just gotten so used to keeping my feelings buried inside. the reason i got exposed to this was because of a failed long term relationship.

but one thing ive learned thanks to people who have responded to my earlier posts is that its not the end of the world. you are still you. herpes doesnt change that. everyday i strive to be a better person to my family and to anyone i meet.

honestly, when i do get the results though i hope i dont spiral back to depression once i see it. its different when you finally have it in your hand. but thats life. the sooner you accept it, the better you will be.

Thanks. i appreciate your support. knowing there are people going thru the same thing gives me strength. i hope to do the same for others.

so yesterday i received my igg test results in the mail which says i am negative or <90 for both 1 and 2. i know i should probably give it a couple of month and get myself tested again. so if May 9 was supposed to be 3 months since my exposure, when should i get tested again? i know the body takes awhile to develop igg antibodies.

I would wait atleast another month before getting tested and if youre having an outbreak then go then to get it swabbed. But it has to be within 48 hours of the OB appearing. Hopefully the test results are correct.

Thank you for your reply. Should i go 6 months from exposure to be sure? Or 4 months is good enough? About OB, things ive noticed from time of exposure was a small bump almost at the rim of my penis head. Lower back pain and my anus has been itching for a month now, it comes and goes but doesnt bother me most of the time.

I would think 4 months is enough time for your body to produce antibodies. The bad part about OB is that they come in many ways with different people. Me, i get lower back pain, a little tiny rash and no itching at all. Its never been too much to deal with like what other people feel. So consider yourself lucky if you do have it. Regardless, its not big deal. There are natural ways to really fix it. But its something that needs to be known so you can be more careful when it comes to a partner.

I respect your supportive way coz i also need it.

Can you tell me how you take care of your partner?

      How you protect her?

      Did you fail?

      Thank you

Well... my situation is a little different. Ive slept with one guy my whole life, been with him since i was 20. He cheated on me back in 2015 and christmas day of 2015 i found out that he had cheated and that she was pregnant with his child. So i went and got tested... found out that i contracted herpes from their affair.... as far as everything else goes.. if you feel like youre having symtoms from an outbreak, do not engage in sexual interactions, try natural remedies to help with outbreaks and controlling it bc it works way better than that medicine they give you, also when having sex use a condom and defiantly be up front with her. I also advise that she gets tested as well and make sure that when you go to get tested you recommend an IGG test for herpes because you feel youve been exposed. Usually doctors dont include herpes testing in their normal routine. Also, dont be hard on yourself about it. It doesnt make you dirty or worthless. Its pretty much just a skin condition and im telling you, if you google or youtube natural ways for herpes you can find things that really help. & the best thing you can do for yourself or your partner while going through this, is to be supportive and open minded. The worst part about herpes is the emotional toll it takes on people because everyone feels its worst case when its far from it.

Honestly, it took alot of self dicispline. I eat a raw organic diet, juice with vegetables everyday and use organic pure oregano oil. If you go on youtube and find this dude "james destroys diseases." I followed him. Its crazy bc every since i did i havent had an outbreak or symoptoms and when i went back to get retested... i tested negative. So idk if its gone or what but i still do the same things bc my body says it works. I got very sick on the medicine the doctors gave me and it shortened my OB by one day so i dont even pay for that crap. Plus, if you have an OB the best thing for me to do was soak in a bath with epsom salt and oatmeal then put desitin max strenth baby diaper rash oitment on the area, def wear loose clothing and do not touch or scratch the area. It makes it worse... trust me, been there, you dont want to do it. Lol but seriously look up that guy and watch his videos about herpes.

Thank you for replying. Hopefully this is the worst it gets for me. Though ive read a lot here how it can be a nightmare. I set an appointment with my pcp a week from now which should make it 4 months from my exposure. I honestly just want closure as to which one i have.
