Waiting over a year too get my ear op

I went too a gp over a year ago was told I had a ear infection I was put on antibiotics and ear drops for a week. Week later I went back as my ear still was block, another gp put me on another stronger antibiotics, week later I went back, and was told be my ear drum was inflamed he couldn't see right inside so, he referred me to ENT, after ENT removed polyup, didn't work , then I was told I would have a op as ear drum was deseased. I was told waiting list for op can be upto 6months, 11 months later I have a op Monday but last week I had a ear test by ENT and I've already lost 40% of my hearing in my affected ear. I was told the op won't improve my hearing just prevent more polyups, and it could get worse over time.

i feel I've been waiting way to long that if was treated sooner I wouldn't of lost quite a lot of my right ear hearing, as a ear infection was not treated quick enough I am angry to be honest as my hearing loss could of been prevented if treated right. Is this medical negligence, do you think I should seek legal advice?

Why the wait ? I know in the past I have had doctors prescribe medicines to remove fluid, as this causing hearing issues . But one year seems a long time . I am having a 4th surgery to replace a stapees prosthetic . I wish you the best . Maybe it's time for a new doctor

Dont know very much about malpractice or insurance regulations. Going to seek legal advice, with all documentation, does not sound like a bad idea. What do you have to lose except more hearing?

Found out today by my GP that the consultant at hospital hasn't even been sending copies of my appointments with them, and what he's found extra to my doctors, So I shall be depending he sends the notes to them, which means more waiting it's totally wrong NHS for ya!!
