Waiting time for op

I have had my second appointment with the consultant at oldham and have signed consent form for surgery for posterior prolapse repair and repair of perineum. Can anyone advise how long I will now be waiting please.

Are you talking about the waiting list? If you are depends on each hospital, your consultant could have given you some idea or ring his secretary because a lot of hospitals are unable to stick to Department of Health timescales and the junior doctors strike won't help.

It sounds as though your consultant has an extremely long waiting list if they haven't any idea. This doesn't surprise me as some hospital trusts are struggling. You could always contact the consultant secretary and ask her to consider you if they get a cancellation but unfortunately they don't always have any control over admissions because a lot of hospitals have a separate department that deals with all hospital admissions now.

I've been thinking about it. Try ringing his secretary up because she may have some idea, they are often better informed than the consultant. Fingers crossed you'll get some answers.
