The hospital where I had my difficult twenty year old revision done have been promoting their NHS service so I suggest that you ring them. Your GP should be happy to refer you to them. Southampton General Hospital.
Please let us know how you get on.
Cheers Richard

HI Andy
Last tear the waiting times in my hospital trust area (Nottingham UK) were quoted at around 18 weeks. I saw my consultant in early October and was operated on on the 17th November - about 6 weeks after my consultation. I could have had an earlier date due to a cancellation but stuck with the planned surgery date.
Since the hiatus in the UK NHS over the winter due to high numbers of A&E patients and the lack of beds for post surgery patients the waiting times have now gone stratospheric. One statistic quoted for the Nottingham NHS was that they had 90 people awaiting elective surgery before Christmas 2017. That number has now rocketed to over 500 - so you can see the reason why times have extended exponentially.
The situation may be different in your area but even if your NHS trust is working normally you could be looking at up to 18 weeks for your operation date.
I know this doesn't help a great deal but I would persevere. Try calling your surgeon's PA/secretary if you have that number and ask what the likely waiting times are.
Sorry to be a doom monger but I'm afraid our health service is struggling to cope - mainly due to bed blocking not releasing space for elective surgery patients

The waiting time I've been told at the main hospital not the hospital I've been told I should be going to as gone from 12mths to 18 mths they have put the hospital into special measures
Which could impact on waiting times for the other hospitals mabe 🤔
My 18 weeks will be up at the end of May I'm not going to hold my breath though
Just keep my fingers crossed
All the best Thank you Andy

I had my consultant visit end if November and offered 12th December, but declined as I fudn’t Want to be out of action over Christmas . Then had 19th January but I got flu three days before. Eventually had it done March 6th. I went to a specialist orthopaedic hospital so not impacted by A&E issues .
