Wake up with headaches?

Most mornings I seem to wake up with a headache? This morning I woke at 04.30am with a headache, still got it now 3 hours later?

Any idea why this is happening? Could it be dehydration as I don't tend to drink anything in the evening?

It could be dehydration or otherwise a symptom known as wind up which is where the nerve endings in the brain have a lot of electrical activity causing the headache.

Get some neurological advice from a GP or specialist if I were you.

Wow I didn’t know about wind up headaches but that makes a lot of sense. I often have headaches when I wake up and they don’t go away until I get up and start moving around.  I also have migraines and tension headaches.. so I guess you could say my head always hurts.

this wind up is nervous response to pain in other parts of the body usually.  maybe this applies to you?
