Waking feeling anxious and sick? Common?

Posted , 7 users are following.

I wake in a sweat feeling paniced and very sick. Iike nauseous. . Does anyone else? Im just back from the out of hours doctor who again put all of how I was feeling down to anxiety... I have been to the ER twice now and a diffrent er in another area. And my gp who is only new so didn't know them. . . But they all keep sayin it's anxiety and my blood pressure is fine. I was convinced I was going to have a anurisim with how I'm feeling but he laughed again and said he doubts it. I show very little symptoms. I know that not everyone shows symptoms.. anyone else feel horrible as soon as they wake ?

Have them run a blood panel on your, many things can cause the symptoms you describe. You have to eliminate them one by one.

What is your age, if you don't mind me asking? Is it possible that hormone changes are causing the issue? I am 63 and started having hot flashes at night and cold sweats in the morning when I was about 50. Turned out I have low testosterone which was discovered in a blood test (I suspected this for years). They put me on some testosterone cream and those symptoms went away.

Consult your GP and eliminate the possibilities one by one.

Hey Phil thanks for the response. I am only 23 so no menopause yet hopefully. I genuinely don't know why I'm sweating so bad. rolleyes doctors won't give me an answer but I have had my bloods done in the last week and all of them were fine... Doctor said I've had a really good check on all things in my bloods and a&e done my bloods also and said all was ok. I asked what the bloods checked for an they said "awh all types of everything you can think of." So I said. Thyroid? And they said no that's one thing it dosent test for. I said celiac? And she said no they don't test for that either in the bloods. Bit most other things and all was ok.... so the next day I went and got thyroid and celiac bloods done and thyroid came back fine too. Only one I don't have back yet is celiac ... my mum has thyroid issues and she told me her first blood test came back fine too but her second one came back that she did have a over active thyroid. . So for whatever reason her bloods didn't pick up on it the first time... I feel horrid... but I pray the doctors know what they are talking about and im fine... hope the optisions are all okay too. rolleyes x

You need to trust your GP and any Specialists who have run tests on you. I always feel rough in the morning and if I get up to quickly I do become dizzy, this is because the blood needs to reach the heart and brain. This sensation does clear very quickly

If there was anything wrong like an Anurisim  they would have picked up that problem in A and E, there are well known markers I understand if this was the case

However you are where you are and any tests given will need to be accepted and then you will need to move on.

It does seem like Anxiety although no matter what your GP says you need to be convinced that you are ok.

I do not know where you are in the World, in the UK ask for a scan. If in a different country you may have to pay to have this done

Ask your GP for a scan, understand if you are ok, it may be you will be asking for further tests if a negative result is received. You need to understand further tests may become more invasive therefore are more risky.

Thanks bob. Seeing an optision tomorrow to rule out any sweeping behind the eyes or what not. If all is good then I know it's only anxiety. So hope all goes well. Then I will feel much more relief. (I hope) 😅

Thank you mariano ... it feels horrid I really panic most mornings and then I worry more because I woke up so crap.... this website really has been sigh a help in the pat few days for me. It's good to talk to people who understand and feel similar. Although I wish anxiety on no body. It really is the worst. I must look into anti sickness tablets too to take! Never actually thought about it. So I will maybe try doing that. I avoid eating most of the time at the minute because of the nauseous feeling and that explains why I have lost all body fat I once had. 😑 it just seems like every little story of someone taking a bad turn or dying is making my anxiety shoot up and it's like the past few weeks I haven't been able to come down from that paniced phase... I really really hope it goes again soon and I can learn to relax. Thanks smile

Yeah mornings are always the worst time with anxiety.

Omg yes, I get this all the time. I woke up this morning early hours for absolutely no reason feeling a sense of dread, like my arms and chest were buzzing and full of adrenaline and feel sick. I wake up covered in sweat most nights at the moment...I even wrapped myself in a towel the other day to soak it up.

I eventually got tested for my thyroid and they found I tested positive for some antibody that means I'm predispositioned to getting thyroid issues later in life (possibly overactive as I'm borderline high). At the moment they're not treating me for it but it might be worth asking your doctor to test for the antibody.

Thyroid runs in my family quite strongly but had bloods done that tested negative. . I'm going to get them done again though because my mum's first blood test came back normal too. Her second one showed positive for thyroid issues. -_- I wake feelin the same sad hate it xx
