Waking up with a ten tonne head!?

Posted , 8 users are following.

The last few weeks have been waking & felt as if I'd been hit round the head. It eventually clears after pain relief & rehydration.

Wondered if any of you experience this & if it's linked to PMR / GCA.

I am recently diagnosed diabetic type 2 so whether this has anything to do with sugar levels I'm not sure.

Many thanks

Another thing that causes bad headaches every morning is sleep apnea - and you don't have to be fat to have it!. You wouldn't believe the headaches that it causes.

You wake up with them and they go away over the next few hours.

It's not hard to get tested, and you can at least cross it off the list if its not sleep apnea!

And it does seem to be a problem in patients with PMR - perhaps the muscles around the throat are weakened. Pred causes fat deposits there which adds to the problem.

FlipDover, I have Sleep Apnea and use to a CPAP machine. Several years ago I had echo cardiogram, the technician asked if I had a CPAP. Told her yes, why? You have damage to one side of your heart that is caused by Sleep Apnea. Last year I had another echo cardiogram, same technician, who said I see that you have been using your CPAP, your heart has been repaired. Just another reason to have a smile on my face! 🙂
