Walking after talus fracture

Right ankle talus body fractured non displaced, stable. Doctor said don't worry it heals 10-12 weeks in a cast of Nwb and immobilization. Can people walk and run normally after recovery this kind of fracture. Does this bone totally heal after undisplaced  fracture? Do patients back to normal life after 3-4 months cast and 1-2 months rehab?

Talus fractures are really tricky and everyone’s different! I fractured mine back in December and had surgery so I can’t speak to your situation w/o surgery completely. I can tell you though that I was walking without a boot at 8 weeks post op and had a little limp and minor pain and was walking and running normally around 3-4 months post op!!! I had a lot of rehab which was super important to me walking and running so quick after surgery. I still have a little minor swelling and stiffness 6 months post op but I was def back to normal life way before 6 months and it’s getting better every day and I hope it’s completely normal when I’m a year post op! So I believe your bone should be completely healed. I hope this helps a little bit smile

Thabks for support. Was your fracture undisplaced? Did you have screws in your bone? Is it possible to have surgery after 3 month if not heals? I hope it will heal in a cast!
