walking on long leg plaster with rubber heel?

hi
i refractured my ankle 3 months ago and have been in long leg plaster ever since. in the last weeks i have been able to move my toes and sometimes to rest my foot on the ground.
yesterday i was given OK to start walking on it, they placed a rubber heel under my cast using plaster bandages. i was given no instructions, just STOP WHEN IT HURTS.
i'm exited to start walking again after such a long time but it's not as easy as it sounds.i only took few steps but noticed something:
the heel is placed in the mid of the sole and it feels unstable.
when walking i rotate the entire leg, i don't think it's the correct way
the ankle doesn't hurt but get very swollen, i feel it because the cast has no padding and gets tight
someone has experiences with long walking casts?

happy to read this update, i remember your injury and treatment were similar to mine.
if you only recently started to move the toes and touch the ground i suggest to be careful.
the heel is placed under the tibia, so the load goes straight to the leg bones. you shouldn't rotate the leg, i did the same mistake and my back started to hurt. try to take small steps very slowly.
often i have seen cast with the foot at a wrong angle, i really hope your is 90°, or would be impossible to walk correctly. and also the tendon will hurt bad.

thanks for answer
i hope your ankle is better now, your vids have been very helpful for me.
the foot appears to be at correct angle. i forced myself to "walk" correctly and noticed that i can if i go very slow. i suppose this is the right way and works ok.
hopefully i'll be able to go faster with the short cast next week.
i must say that i'm impressed i can put so much weight on my bad leg without pains, from the videos you barelly touch the ground so i assume your injury is much worse.
