Hi Sarah, I know what you are talking about! I was the same when I first started on meds, but they  take about two weeks to kick in. Just getting off the bed and making a move to the lounge will help, as will taking your mind off things by watching a little TV or maybe reading a magazine - nothing that will tax you too much. Getting outside for a little autumn sun wont hurt and will take your mind off things...there is a big world out there that is missing you!  As for the guilt, you HAVE to accept that you can only do what you can do at the moment, and I have been feeling worthless and guilty too. I have decided that the only one that is holding me back is ME...sometimes the guilty feelings get too much, but there are a lot of people in the same boat as you so dont let it get to you! It comes as a shock when you cant do what you did before, but its because you are ill...nothing else. You WILL get better, and there are a lot of people on here who will help you if you drop them a line. Take care and keep hangin' in there! Marie.

Sarah. ..I felt the same as you!  The messages from Marie and Frank say it all very well.   Getting out of bed and downstairs to the couch was all I could do some days.  Sometimes I would sit out front on the swing....that was on a GOOD day!  No one understood and it was during this time I found out who my REAL friends are!  I am finally doing so much better but it didn't happen until I insisted the Dr take me off of Sertraline and give me Effexor.  I don't know what is right for you, of course,  but Sertraline was making my life a living hell.  Good luck...it Will get better!
