Wart or Pimple?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have 2 small raised areas, one on the shaft of my penis that I noticed a few weeks ago. The other I first noticed about a week ago right beneath the head seems to be slowly growing. Neither leaks, the older one is only painful if squeezed or rubbed hard, the newer has no discomfort as of yet, i'm just curious what it might be. Have had somewhat similar in the past that went away after awhile, is it worth another doctor visit? imageimageimageimageimage

I think basically what you have going on is linked to you being circumcised - skin in the area is severely damaged as compared to if you were not circumcised, this means that issues you have will not heal in a normal manner and you may simply get repeated issues like this.

The best professional advice to get would be by seeing a Urologist.

What did the doctor say previously on these issues ..... ?

When they were closer to the base he told me they looked more like ingrown hairs and had me go get hibiclens antiseptic cleanser. Since these are closer to the head I wasn't sure if the same advice would apply

No, this would be most unusual, but is potentially possible.

The area at the base of the penis is subject to a whole host of conditions that are not present on the upper-half of the shaft - such as the heat of the surrounding body, natural oils from pubic hair and sweat, shaving, and so on

just an update. the one beneath the penis head went away on its ownrather quickly. The other, older bump is still there. It behaves like a pimple every few weeks there's the tiniest swelling until a pinprick or so of clear fluid comes out the corner, never the top. But mostly there's been no change. Haven't been doing anything to it, other than a month ago I switched from heavy lotions to just coconut oil after my showers. Tried to get in touch with a dermatologist but the wait time for new patients has been 2-3 months. Love the US Healthcare system.

I would make the appointment anyway - you need to get this correctly identified, you should not be getting the clear fluid

I used a professional virtual dermatology service. The advice given was that it appears to be subcutaneous scarring, past trauma that heals improperly like you suggested. Was recommended hydrocortisone cream or Madecassol ointment, and to visit a physical office if there's no change or continued recurrence. Thanks for your advice too

Thanks for the further detail: to get the best out of the hydrocortisone you must use it exactly as stated in the information leaflet. It MUST be absorbed by the skin to gain benefit, otherwise you may falsely think it is not achieving anything. Rub it well into the skin, this takes at least 2 to 3 minutes, not a matter of seconds.

It sounds like you were given good advice, and yes, you may need to get examined in-person - so if you need to get examined
