    hi roxie.

I'm only 10 days in on 50mg of sertraline and having some side effects but not many mainly increased anxiety and lower mood.

I was on citalopram before sertraline and the first time I was on it no side effects and kicked in at about 4 weeks and felt great.

second time round it took more than 12 weeks to notice anything and i had every side effect you can think of

I've heard from a lot of people that when they have been on it for the second time it was a lot harder.

so dont panick it's not uncommon x hope this helps

yeah the side effects should pass if they dont then see your gp.

I dont see why they wont, some peoples side effects last longer than others and it's not unheard of for them to last longer. give it another couple of weeks and see how you feel I reckon.

hopefully the sleeping tablets will help too and you wont need them once the side effects go x

    hi ,

i have had the same experiance with sertiline . i started on zoloft when i was 28 because it was severe . when i started it was hard i went up to 25 to 50 to 100mg for about 7 months and than i felt so mucj better to the point i went cold turkey . i thought i didnt need it anymore and my doc said to start reducing my dose but never did . so for about 7 months i went without taking meds i felt fine no sode effects nothing until one say i started getting really really sick again the anxeity was so much worse i had to go back on it . it was bad side effects suicide thoughts . 3 years later in on 100mg and im barly feeling ok . it sucks but i think second time around is much harder and takes way longer . just stay strong its so hard but if i can push through so can you !!! best of luck to you !
