Watch or act

i have radiation treatment for prostrate cancer 8 years ago. After 6 years my Psa rose to 5.4 and all scans were negative. The next year it was at 8.5 and all scans negative. Then it six months it skyrocketed to 16.6 still all scans were negative. Four months later it's 22.2 with all scans still negative. I feel fine, workout a lot , I am 67. Dr has left it up to me whether to continue watch and wait or to start hormone therapy. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Not sure what kind of scans you are talking about. But do consider your age, your quality of life and side affects of hormone therapy (hot flashes, muscle loss, weight gain, genital shrinkage and no sex - ED). All of which are certain!

Have you been checked out for infections? std, urinary tract and bladder infections can all impact on psa levels.

I would urge you to have a  urine  test for possible infection.
