Water in the ears? ETD

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi all,,

I was just diagnosed with Eustachian tube dysfunction and given napoxoxen to cope.

Before I was actually examined, a doc on the phone assumed it was an ear infection and told me not to got me ears wet.

Does that hold true for ETD?

I have another condition, which means I can;t shower, only bath, and have to submerge my ears to wash my hair.

Thanks for any help!

Most stores carry ear plugs for swimming. People use them to keep their ears dry after getting tubes too.

You could also use a cup to rinse your hair

Morning Mudskippa,  It's never a good idea to get water in ours ears.  When I wash my hair I always make sure I use ear plugs, don't put your head under the water when washing your hai.   Eustachian Tube Dysfunction is usually when mucus has got into the tubes and stuck them together and it's so very difficult to clear.  If you read posts on this Forum you will see many of us suffer the same.  I've just replied to Tasha, find comments they may help you.
