Ways to take omprazole with swallowing problems?

I am currently waiting on an ENT appointment  at my hospital to see if there is anything wrong with my throat or chest.  My doctor said in the meantime I should treat my symptoms as silent reflux and has prescribed omprazole 20mg capsules. I am having problems with swallowing and a feeling of something being stuck in my throat so I even though I know that tablet won't stick I am making myself feel worse because I don't want to swallow it.

I have tried opening the capsules and putting the small pellets from inside on a spoon and put the spoon into my mouth and quickly swallow with water. However I'm finding all that happens is the pellets stay on my tongue, stick to my tongue or go inside my cheeks. This means I have to be careful not to chew them or I just don't get the full or any dose.

I tried putting the pellets in a glass of water and stirring it but they won't dissolve and they stuck to the bottom of the glass.

If anyone can describe all the different ways and forms I could take the omprazole without just swallowing the capsule that would be great.

Hi Gillian, thanks for your advice. Is that the same as Lansoprazole?  what are you taking them for? If you don't mind my asking, I have had what I think is reflux for awhile now however I am waiting for a barium swallow and naselendoscopy so it could well be something else. My chest and throat just feel sore and irritated but I don't get much heartburn or acid. I may be silent reflux I suppose.

Hi there yes they are the same as lansoprazol but better in my opinion and you can swallow or let them dissolve  in the mouth and I'm taking them for acid reflux I get the burning in chest and throat to but mostly if I'm stressed or eaten something that triggers it
