Weak muscles shaking all over for weeks ,can this be from anxiety

I am a 42 year old female and have had anxiety for 20 years but this is a new symptom I just can't seem to get past. I have shaky hands arms legs but mostly when I'm using these muscles. Using my keyboard on my phone is a joke most of the time. This has been going on for 6 weeks and started about 1 week after my grandfather's funeral and a viral cold. I went the the Dr 2 weeks ago and she said I think it's your anxiety which I do have a rich history of. She said give it another month or so. It just makes me nervous cause I have never had this symptom and for 6 weeks! Has anyone else experienced this?

Anxiety makes my heart race, also my hands shake, legs, can also feel my head shaking at times, I make so many type errors and find it embarrassing if I think anyone notices , it comes and goes, I can usuually tell when it's going to be bad as my adrenaline kicks in when anxious and then I know the shaking may start. Nowadays I can mostly ignore it and it passes, can be a horrible feeling , ' another frustrating anxiety symptom' 😊??

Thank you for your reply. It Is really frustrating and seems worse during the day. When I relax at night not as bad. I guess it's mostly when I use the muscle. Just want to be back to my normal self again. Thank you for your reply

Sorry for late reply. Mine comes and goes. May be ok for weeks or months, then feel like this for a day or two or just a one off. Had anxiety for years so sort of used to it. It is horrid and annoying so don't mean ' used to it' I just mean I realise it's happening and it will pass, 😊??

6 Weeks seems a long time for your body ( hands & Legs) to be shaking. I know that sometimes my hands and legs shake. Well my hands shake and my legs feel like jelly. But it passes.  It frightens me so I wash my wrists under running cold water...I can't think of any other way to stop myself from shaking.

Is it constant? When you walk & pick up things? Because that sounds more like the nerve system. You could have a trapped nerve.  If a doctor says to see what happens in a months time then they obviously don't think its urgent. So hold on to that thought.

I hope someone else on hear has better advice. I just wanted to try and get you not to worry too much. But I know that is a difficult ask for most of us...

Correct when I use the muscle carrying heavy items not so much holding a glass or just holing my hands out.The legs went away and then came back again. It's just frustrating.i also feel like I have a build up of adrenalin. My anxiety stems from my health which makes it more difficult to have a symptom for so long. Years ago I did have a symptom last for 4-5 weeks sweaty feet and it was terrible. This tremor or shaky symptom though has me crazy. Thank you.

That sounds like a panic attack or maybe you have COPD not enough lung capacity to do heavy duties. Either the doctor shouldn't have said wait another month in my opinion. I know you are young but listen to your body. It's not liking you carrying so don't carry. Call the doctor again. There are checks he can do for COPD

Hi.  Shaking hands and jelly legs are classic symptoms of anxiety !!! I wouldn't worry about it. Easier said than done I know, but if you are an anxiety sufferer then that is what it is.  I have it regularly and it comes and goes depending on the level of my anxiety at any particular moment.  When I'm relaxed or in bed, no jelly legs or shaking hands, so that has proven to me that it is the anxiety. Its the excess adrenalin going around your body. Anxiety is a nightmare !!! Lily x

Hi Shannonm5, I have had a similar reaction when I have used my muscles too much..overexertion. I have had shaking when in a severe panic attack . The shaking always subsided when the panick attack stopped.  Everyone is different yes,,, but if you think you need a second opinion, it wouldn't hurt. One suggestion is : if you take a sedative for severe panic attacks....I suggest trying to take one when you have a severe shaking episode and see if it helps?. If it does , it may just be anxiety. I hope this helps. In the mean time try and focus on something like music or a hobby to alleviate stress. Good luck.

Hi!  I am experiencing the same symptoms and it started around January. I noticed that it lasts part of the month and possibly around my menstrual cycle but I haven’t figured that out yet.   Just starting to keep a record of symptoms. My legs get so weak I have to actually use a walker sometimes and then other days it can be fine. Did you ever find any answers?  Thanks!
