If you are starting to feel low on 10mg, try taking 10 one day and 20 the next for a few weeks. When you're feeling OK with that, then make it 20 one day, and 10 for 2 days until you are just taking 10.
Then, (when you're feeling settled) take one 10mg every other day, after a couple of weeks make it one every third day and so on. Eventually I got to the point where it was 6 days since my last tablet, and I thought \"I really don't need to take these any more\".
It took a long time, but this is the way I got off them, back in July (after my gp told me I would probably be on them forever!) I have the odd down day, but doesn't everybody? I'm certainly loads better than before I started taking them.
Hope this helps.

I have been on citalopram (40mg) for 3 years. I have now only started to go down to 20mg per day, however it is fine.
I would like to say that I am a senior manager in the company I work and I work all over the world, however my colleagues do not know that I am prescribed Citalopram.
I suppose what I am saying is that try and be strong, as drugs don't work on their own.
