Weaning off meds

i have been on olanzapine and mirtazapine for six months and am encouraged by your report of getting off the olanzapine. I have pushed to start weaning off these meds as they make me feel lethargic, sleepy, and I have gained weight that I worked hard to lose. My provider was reticent to start the weaning process, and only with my persistance agreed to wean off olanzapine. I already feel clearer after a few days and hope the weight comes off with exercise and portion control. I hope that the mirtazapine weaning is similar, but the emphasis should be on lowering the dose as slowly as possible. It seems to me that they are quick to prescribe but not to wean. It is also hard to reduce dosage when cutting pills is not exact and they don't prescribe lower doses that are scored. Would appreciate feedback on how to do that better.

Thank you. Slow is my goal but I didn't think it would take quite as long to get off the mirtazapine. I will definitely go that route as the withdrawal symptoms are not something I want to live through. It seems easy to get started but awful to get off. argh.
