Wearing an elastic back brace lessens my abdominal pain

This has drawn a perplexed and seemingly disinterested "huh" from my primary care physician and Gastroenterologist. Half a lifetime ago I injured L4,L5,S1 and was told I already had degenerative disk disease. I was prescribed an elastic back brace with supports, velcro up front. I recently dug it out of storage and tried wearing it because honestly, I have so many pain issues I don't know where one affliction ends and the other begins. Anyway, wearing this seems to hold my guts in place and minimize my abdominal distress. I have been having pain under my right rib area that a colonoscopy and CT scan can't explain. I rarely feel it when I wear the brace, and left side discomfort is also better. I joke with my wife that this is my girdle. Odd, but its like things are loose in there.
