immediatly after upping to 20mg i feel terrible again constantly yawning feeling horrific to the point where i want to just come home from work and curl up in a corner , how long until the body settles a little on the higher dose

Hi James unfortunately it takes time for your body to adjust.
This time around it took me roughly three months to feel normal again but the good news is that citalopram works and soon you will feel better.

i understand i wont feel better overnight but omg i feel horrendous and only start feeling a little bit better around tea time then just reapeat the next day , i actually hate going up to bed now because i know what the next morning holds , i would love some benzos but being in the uk they dont seem to like handing them out

yes benzos will help a bit when i got first diagnosed and prescribed citalopram the psychiatrist gave me benzos fir the first 2/3 weeks to help with citolapram side effects.
That was in another country though.
i normally asked friends abroad to get me some in case i feel really bad in the first period of citalopram. they're addictive but the should be prescribed when needed.

trust me mate it will pass, its a bit rough at the minute i know, in the meantime get good sleep, eat healthy, cut down on booze, excercise, it all helps you mate to get to a better place

thats another story mate, i dont drink , ive cut caffine , but my appetite is zero im back at the docs tomorrow so see what they say

how many days have you been on 20 mg?
why dont you increase slowly, drop to 15 mg if you feel that horrible, my doc said go up 10 one day then 15 the next then back to 10 etc, untill your settled then go up 15 stay on 15 untill settled then one day 15 then 20 the next etc, . its such a hard call, everybody responds differently

this is only my first day on 20mg so i think i am just going to stick with it and ride it out as i know its a good med
