Week 4 after Posterior repair for stg 1 rectocele

Posted , 4 users are following.

...and I am feeling ok overall, still spend most of the day resting, needing to use softeners ++ but no more pain releif, bleeding well stopped by now. I did do a tiny bit of hand-held vacuuming for 10 mins this morning - basically just a hand-held duster weighs about as much as my jug which I am lifting now with 1litre or so in it. My energy is good and I want to walk a bit more than round the house soon. Back to work mid-May. Do I sound as if I'm on track? Anyone else use a hand-held vacuum at this stage, or should I just never.

      Hi Kym;

      Well I don't know if I'm doing well or not, that's the really hard thing with this op! I suspect 'doing well' would mean NOT having done even the hand-held vacuuming for 15mins - I'm starting to feel frustrated at the limitations. I suspect I may have lifted a bit much (kettle, some wood onto the fire), these very early weeks, but I'm trying to be patient; can anyone on here reassure me that I havnt done too much? Good luck to you Kym - this forum has been a godsend.

    Hi Ruth

    So glad to hear the you are recovering so well.   Not sure what it feels like with rectocele only.  4  weeks it still early days. You’ll have a lifetime of vacuuming ahead but these precious weeks are important.

    Keep up the good work!

    You did hoovering!!! Gosh I'd b e afraid to do that even 6 maths after.

    I wa s definitely told no hoovering in the early months as I'm being so cautious.

    You are very brave i must say. I hope you don't do damage hunx

      Wasn't 'hoovering' per se! I've sold my big heavy vacuum and will soon get a smaller, lighter one. All i did was gently use a light, hand held sucker thing, to do some edges for 5 mins on my knees and not straining. I don't want to take any risks - I actually won't even do that again.

      Bless you hun. No it's not worth the worry afterwards is it.

      I'm 13 wks tvh and anterior repair and still do no lifting heavier than 2 pint of milk and still haven't bent over at waist. I will never do that,use knees lol. Xx
