week 4 of sertraline and no better.. any advice?

hi there, I'm 4 weeks on sertraline after a triggering event (at 100mg right now for coming up on 2 weeks) and I'm not doing well. I can't stop crying and feel nauseous all the time and have been off work for over a month now. I'm working with my healthcare team and staying at my parents so I'm monitored and have food brought to me but they don't really know what to do anymore. I feel like it should be getting better but it's not. This is my second time on the medication (i got off like 6 months ago, after taking it for 2 years at 200mg) and the first time round, I didn't have any side effects so my doc figured I wouldn't this time either so it is baffling to try to understand what's going on. I just want to feel better with some relief. Any help would really help me through. 😦

Hi, my doctor told me you could get side effects from as little as a couple days all the way up to 6 weeks, its different for everyone, im new to sertraline and been on 50mg for almost a month and the past few days all side effects have gone and feel so much better, just wait for your body to adjust to it again and you'll feel better soon, during the rough patches i found use calming music and take deep breaths help and with the nausea i found bananas and oatmeal helps alot and make sure you stay hydrated, this medication is basically a waiting game. all the best
