Week 5.

Hi!

I am just starting week 5 of 50mg of sertraline & wondered how everyone else is feeling & what week everyone is on?

Weeks 1 & 2 were awful, every side effect going but beginning of week 3 they started to ease off. Last week & this week I have been so up & down. Feeling more anxious this week unfortunately.

i have been on sertraline for 7 months and the first several weeks were awful. it was around week 7-8 when my dose was increased to 100 mg that i did not experience any set backs. I believe you get to experience ups and downs until you find what dose is right for you and the medication levels off in your system. Many years ago, i was on sertraline (50 mg and 75 mg at times) but I had never felt like I feel now on 100 mg, which tells me that 100 mg is the right dose for me.

Hi! How are you feeling after upping your dosage? I have nearly done a week on my new dose of 75mg. Still feeling slightly anxious during points of the day & night. Appetite slowly coming back. Hope you have been feeling ok. x

Hi! Thanks for asking how I am, I am doing ok. I have done nearly 4 weeks on 75mg. I feel like my anxiety is still quite on edge at night time more then any other time of the day. I do still think I will up them again to 100mg. When I was last on them 3 years ago, I went up to 100mg & it was the perfect dosage for me. I stayed on 100mg for years. How have you been feeling? xx

So sorry for the late reply, I have only just logged on. Honestly, stick with it. I am now on week 6 & feeling more human. I have just upped my dosage to 75mg because my anxiety at night & 1st thing in the morning is awful. When I was on sertraline 3 years ago, I got to 100mg & stayed there for years so I think that is my theraputic dose. Stay strong! You've got this far! x

Thank you, im on week 4 my dr upped my dose to 50 but i feel way more anxious now. Is this normal or too high of dose? Having hard time sticking through. I still have no interest in doing anything and feel blah and like panicky. Hard for me to even have a conversation with someone or care to even get out of bed

Hi! I completely agree with you there, the side effects are awful! Within my 1st few weeks I definitely got the shakes, it wouldn't happen all the tome but it was a side effect I had. Keep pushing through! x

yes its a slow journey on this drug, patience is a virtue, as when you first start this anti depressant , people have a different tolerance. Remember your brain is adjusting to the increase of serotonin.

Week 7 insomnia , driving me crazy , also feeling slight benefits , but only marginal.

Uncomfortable socialising , still off work ,although I'm back in 7 days.

I'm a shell of my normal positive self.

Out with friends, tomorrow night, for dinner I'm dreading it as I feel so low in confidence.

Any way , there are slight improvements will have to mask it .

when one is normally unwell, doctor prescribes antibiotic and it kills the virus , antidepressants work differently this is what I cant get my head around . the timeline

They say a problem shared is a problem solved , and we are all lucky, to realise that we are not alone or going crazy, even though it can feel like it.
