Yo Terry, You probably have a few weeks to go until side effects subside  but know that these feelings are not permanent !! if anxiety is still really bad then maybe the dosage needs attention see your doc and keep them in the loop dont struggle on your own some people go through side effects quicker than others you and I maybe take longer cause we have a bigger brain lol! but seriously dont lose faith hnag in there you will feel better soon !!

Hang in there terry. It's a long process some people take months to find relief. I'm running into my 11th week. I'm now upto 40mg. It doesn't seem to be a one size fits all for how long it takes so just hang in there. Sounds like you are still having side effects?

Hi Terry. I'm sorry to hear that you are having these side effects. I feel your pain. The dr has put me up to 40mg now and the anxiety is through the roof. The side effects are going slowly but still sweat a lot and not labido. Every morning I wake up with a hot rush of adrenalin going though my bdody which makes me ill and want to give up. I think if that would just stop life would be more bearable. She gave me 40mg of beta blockers last Monday. I dont see them helping either. Im like you gong to give it another month and see if there is a change. I have rang the surgery ths morning. Im going to ask if they can give me dizepam or something to take the edge off in the moring. We will get there, it a slow process by what I have read up and we have got to take what it throws at us, which is not easy x

      Hi Terry,

I think when you feel anxious and it constantly on your mind it makes you depressed. Like when you get up in the morning and just want to get along with your day, I find it inpossible as the feeling of being anxious takes over. The fear the dread of what the day has to hold, which then makes me depressed as I'm so anxious. I think if that would just go and wakng up to not feeling like that will be half the battle. I must admit my depressing days are lifting, not everyday mind, but they are improving, but the anxiety is getting worse. I have just been increasesd to 40mg and I think that why im so anxious. Have you asked your dr about putting you on proptanol? She told me to take 40mg 3 times a day. I can't say if they are working or not but I do seem to get less anxious through out the day. I hope your having a better day please keep in touch x

Hi Terry I started citalopram back at the end of January 2015 when my anxiety just went through the roof so went to the docs and he put me on 10 mg, lasted about two weeks and I went back cause I couldn't eat, stomach was constantly in knots like butterfly's, all sore all over and I just wasn't coping then he upped me onto 20mg (took about 8 wks 2 kick in as I was off work for that length of time) and I've been on them since and I've never felt better, anxiety was slightly there but nothing like before so hopefully it will kick in soon enough for you and you'll get back to being you xx

thanks jbell , i think there is a slight drop in my anxiety  i am having bad depressive mood swings which i never really had only anxiety , so i dont know if its the med causing it ,  or just depression and in time the med will rid me of the depression if you know what i mean , but at the moment its tough going , was hoping i would feel a bit better by now ,
