Week 6 - side effects returned? Advice please :)

Posted , 3 users are following.

hi am approaching week 7 of sertraline and have noticed an improvement in my mood over the past fortnight maybe, however a week ago my initial side effects seem to have returned. I initially had a bad stomach (nausea, loose stools - sorry TMI!) for two weeks which I expected and it went away, but 3 weeks later it returned!

Has anyone else been through something similar or able to shed any light on why this os happening? I really want it to stop asap or I may have to consider stopping the medication and really dont want to do that. Arg!

Thanks!

Sara

hi 😃 all it is. is a blip 😃 and it will pass. you will have a few blips along the way 😦 but eventually you will get to the point wear you dont get anymore 😃 I have been on sertraline over a year and half now. I had 4 or 5 occasions wear I felt like I was ok and then get my side effects again. I'm not sure why this happens I'm not a doctor 😦 but speaking from my own experience everytime I had a blip. it never lasted to long and was never as bad as the one before 😃 just stick with it and eventually you will get to the point of feeling good 😃 stay strong 😃

Hi Sara, has your life been more stressful recently? I am usually ok with hardly any noticeable side effects, until I get stressed. After about 2 decades now, I pay more attention to my body, like even on this drug, if I am more stressed I start to experience the side effects, like headache, diarrhea, palpitations, locked jaw, and tightness of neck muscles and shoulders. I think these side effects returning may be your body telling you that something is starting to stress you out, so try not to get stressed and the side effects will disappear again.
