Week 7 derealisation

Posted , 4 users are following.

Week 7 on zoloft total, 50mg for two and a half weeks and then 100mg for 4 and a half weeks.

the following is a basic timeline of my experience

First two weeks: Dealing with huge anxiety and panic attacks and very dark days.

Third week : fall back, panic attacks, depression, anxiety. living at my new house and upped dosage.

fourth week. Starting new job, incredibly tough week, vomiting on the way to work, 2 hours sleep. Going to work thinking I was going to die and life was done and leaving thinking "I can get through this" Basically low lows and high highs.

Fifth week: life was starting to get a little normal, didnt feel myself, no panic attacks, some intrusive thoughts - it was as if my brain was just filled with so much negativity that it was feeling like it was just screaming and I had headaches

Sixth week: Intrusive thoughts were the main player this week.

7th week: intrusive thoughts fading a bit and having feelings of derealisation/dissasociation with the outerworld. Staring at things/people in almost and analysing way.

Does all of this sound familiar to people? I would say im still a fair journey away from being back to normal

Yes, anxiety symptoms and your thinking patterns can be extremely varied and frightening. Ride it out and you will be back to normal. Positive thinking despite all that is going on is a must. I keep thinking "tie yourself to the mast my friend and the storm will end" and it gets me through the darker days. You will recover and be back to normal. Best of luck!

Sounds familiar. I Have had derealisation/dissasociation for about 3 years now, meds make it hard to break from and my anxiety creates as a safety shutdown from the things that trouble me 🙏

Hey James, I'm on week 9 sert, upped to 150mg 17 days ago. This week has been slightly better, I had the derealization symptoms three weeks ago or so, they seem to have past. So hang in there. The meds just take a long time to work. Had really bad insomnia as well but that's subsided this week.

The chest tightness really, just seems to hang around for hours on end. The only thing that stopped it was when I was given zopiclone to help sleep. One 3.75mg of those and 30 mins later anxiety gone! Didn't particularly induce sleep but made me feel prob 95 % better! For rest of evening anyhow. Got some diazepam to help at mo but they don't seem to do much really. Perhaps ask ya gp for some zoplicone, be interesting to see if they work for anxiety for others. Keep fighting on, we will all get better 😊
