Week 8

Posted , 6 users are following.

Today marks the first day of week 8 on my new dose. I am happy to say I am starting to feel myself again. I can actually laugh and smile because things genuinely are making me happy again. I still have my moments as we all do, but no where near what I was experiencing before increasing and am able to cope better with them.

I just can't get over the tiredness and headache though. At the end of most days I am just drained and crash on my couch or bed right when I get home from work. Maybe because I'm staring at computers all day? Who knows....but I am excited to see what the next few weeks bring. Hopefully they bring more energy and the headache diminishes...lol

Hi that is good news and will bring a lot of hope to those who are still struggling. The headaches will go, eventually, mine hung around for about 12 weeks but now I just get normal ones occasionally, as everyone does, the tiredness will get better as well, you are still recovering so do not put too much pressure on yourself, you are well on your way and have such a positive attitude that I firmly believe you have every right to be looking forward to a better and healthier future. Well done you for not giving up

Sue are you completely leveled by now? What dose are you on?

yes I completely back to normal, no anxiety, no depression and no lasting side effects. I have stayed on 50, I did think 4 months in that I might have needed an increase but I waited a week and the blip passed. Everyone is different with regards to doses but once you have found your optimum life starts very slowly to get better

I wonder if the tiredness is due to feeling better? I mean, we go through SO much during the bad times the feeling down, the anxiety, I can see how it could overload your mind, kinda like it overloads your muscles when you work out and are using them all day long. Maybe it's just the mind finally relaxing and catching up on the much needed rest and sleep?

Sorry kind of off topic but thought I would throw that out there. I've been through all of this before, believe me! lol

So glad to hear that you're feeling better, it's so nice to see others doing well to those of us who knows how awful it feels when you're down. Been there done that! Zoloft worked very well for me too! So glad that I decided to go for it and just take it years ago 😃

You might be right there grounded because when you think about it we spend weeks or months worrying that we are never going to get better, obsessing over why we or how we got so ill in the first place that it is bound to take its toll and then when we feel a bit more relaxed! as you say it probably just all catches up with us

      grounded,

i was on 50mg for about 11 weeks and had major breakthrough anxiety...i often wonder when people say to "hold on throuh the blips" how severe others blips really are to tough them out to potentially level out? i wonder if i should have toughed it out to week 12 to see if that so called "blip" would have passed instead of increasing? i dont know how severe everyone elses blips are....i felt like i wanted to die...i felt like i was going crazy and did not know what to do and felt like that was the absolute worst feeling i have ever felt in my life and wasnt gonna make it through....just curious if others blips were that severe or not? everyone is different i know.....So hard not knowing what to do

      Hi Mariah

May I ask you if you took any time off work?

I am back tomorrow and I have only been on 40mg for 5 days

I just wanted to hear someone else's experience

      Thanks!

No I didn't take any time off of work...I wish I could have, but I'm pretty much the bread winner in my house lol, so I really couldn't. I struggled pretty bad, but in the long run I think it helped...in the sense of just getting out instead of hiding in at home and finding things to take my mind off of the intrusive thoughts.

I think the hardest part was the initial side effects while working....they really kicked my butt!! Plus I stare at a computer all day, so it was pretty rough to be honest...the fogginess and fatigue oh man...but now that the side effects have passed I'm much much better 😃

Honestly you are the first person I know doing that.

I am back tomorrow and I will be thinking of what you did to give me courage.

Will also have diazepam for the early anxiety and help me concentrate

You should be very proud of your self!
