Do you have any hobbies at all? Perhaps, something to keep your mind off boredom?
What about doing a few online OU courses which are free? 265+ all free, etc. There are numerous lists of free courses you can take.
Just an idea!

Les.

the last time I was single (1991-1993), I had split from my wife of 11 years and didn't know what to do. I watched tv, took walks, twiddled my thumbs. Then I saw an ad in the singles section of our newspaper. I thought to myself "not me, this is for losers". But then I thought about it and realized it was just for singles people. A way to meet new people using the current technology. I had mostly disappointing experiences, but most of that was my own fault. I misrepresented myself in my ads. And I found out other people did as well. I'd get photos from women that were 10-15 years old. Not current at all. Or they'd say they were thin and they would be fat. Not that fat is bad, but why lie when you're going to meet them? When I finally got honest, I did meet someone and we're still together 23 years later. I'd think it would be much easier with the internet. Just don't rush into it. Spend some time making a friend online before meeting them. Ask questions that are really important to you. Meet people with shared values and interests. And most importantly, be honest. They'll find out anyways.

Hi Don,
You have to be very careful these days, cyber crime has now taken over street crime. Credit & Debit Card details are stolen from places you wouldn't believe.
I won't go in to details of how it's all done or where, because that would be right off-topic! I'll give you a couple of statistics instead! These were announced in August 2016, and still increasing daily:
CISCO Talos August 2016
600 Billion emails scanned per day!
20 Billion Threats Blocked per day!
If you do use any dating site make sure the address shows a padlock in the address bar!
...And, good luck!
Regards,
Les.

Hi. Yes, I constantly get depressed at weekends because I have social anxiety and problems meeting people to do things with. My dad has dementia so I usually spend one day of the two with my parents to help them but this is not too great for my mental health and maybe has a knock on effect with other stuff. I read your post Chris and think the fact you have close friends at least should give you some feeling of worth you just need to maybe try something new..running or something maybe ? Isolation is good in small doses but I feel like I can't break this cycle of emptiness and loneliness is a real bum. At least you are motivated enough to clean and tidy I guess, mine could do with a once over if you've got the time as I just can't bring myself to do it?! Wish there was a switch I could flick to the off position would be so much easier. Get depressed thinking of the time I'm wasting feeling miserable and not doing much which just makes it worse all seems rather pointless really. Sorry can't think of much advice to give you just know you are not on your own and am sure you'll be ok

No worries. Do you like exercise? I have been injured for the last 3 months, is probably making my depression worse, but I used to swim or go to a exercise class or go on my bike for a shot ride at weekends even when I don't feel like it (and I have to REALLY push myself to do it) this will usually lift my mood slightly but also helps tire me so I can sleep better...Oh OK if it's just a quick once over tidy you might not be much use to have doing my place as it needs a serious go at..hopefully the cleaning fairies will visit as I also live on my own and really can't see myself doing it. You are welcome for the reply thanks for your post I came on this site 1st time today as am having a episode of depresin that is quite strong and has already lasted a few months now so thought I'd check out a forum see if it helped.

Oh what a great question you hit the nail on the head all my friends are married have family children and I'm not so lucky. So there weekend is consumed with their families and all my family has passed on our lives out of town so I have nothing importance to do over the weekend no one that values me and I do understand what you're saying I just need to figure out a way to get over that hump
