Weight...

Hi, everyone!

I haven't actually started taking Sertraline yet, but I came home from the pharmacist with it yesterday, so it's pretty much ready to go. Now, the worry I am having is to do with weight gain. Currently, I am on a weight loss venture, as I currently weigh about 260 pounds. I am doing well so far and getting the weight off, but if Sertraline is going to mess with that then I dunno whether or not I wanna take it. Is there anyone on it that has NOT suffered with weight gain? Or who isn't struggling to lose weight when they try to?

Hi David, I'm currently on sertaline. Been on it for around 4weeks now and at the beginning I loss my appetite and lost around 1stone. My appetite is now back but haven't experienced any problems with weight gain. Hope that helps? x

Keeping my fingers crossed, Michelle. I'm hoping there won't be any issues.

Hi David. I've been on sertraline for about 5 months.

Initially I lost around 2.5 stone starting up and I got very skinny. I've been trying to gain back the weight and only managed to gain about 9lbs in the last 5 months.

Some weeks I'd lose and some I'd gain. I think you'll be alright!

I hope so, Suzie. In my instance, losing 2.5 stone starting up might be more of a blessing than a hindrance!

    David,

I have been on Sertaline since late November. I experienced weight loss due to low appetite. i think it's best to weigh the pros and cons of taking it vs not. If you stay motivated to keep on your weight loss plan you'll probably counter any weight gain. I wish you luck with your decision.
