Weight fluxuating like crazy, highly worried.

I was in a high stress situation about a year ago, and I had dropped from 130 to 90 pounds in 2 months (I am 5'4"wink. I was frightened, and it has done a lot of damage to my stomach. Now, I gain 'temporary' weight. If I eat more than one meal, I will bloat and have 'rolls' and look a lot heavier... but it goes away days later. I loss weight if I skip one single meal. I am highly confused and worried, and I just want to gain some weight. I am currently sitting at 114, but I don't know what I will weigh next week. I count calories, and make sure to add a little extra... to gain some weight. But it just bloats me and I lose that weight like it is the easiest thing in the world. My metabolism is out of whack, and I don't know how to feel normal again.

    Hi,

First thing I'd do if you already haven't, is get a full blood test done. I hope you are going to your doctor and ruling out any worry some thoughts that we all have when we, or a loved one is in this situation. Ask your doctor for a bone scan so that will rule out any major concerns. It's an easy scan and will bring you some peace of mind. Why are you counting calories? 90 lbs is much too low for any adult.

I can tell you that stress definitely can be a cause of weight loss. I had the same thing after a stressful year long ago. I was skin and bones. I was terrified I had some deadly disease. I am now on a pill for anxiety/depression. It has changed my life. I don't worry like I did previously, and I will never stop taking them.

Something to talk over with your doctor. You will be bloated, because your stomach has shrunk so there is no room for food. My husband just finished his first can of weight gain, you can buy it at any health store. He is feeling much better and now eating again.

Please do not wait! Get an appt ASAP with your doctor. Stress can kill you if you aren't in the right frame of mind. I don't mean to worry you, but sounds to me like this could be your problem. Please let me know how you are doing. Remember, we only have one life so treasure it... hugs
